While Im testing the Thunderbird (minutes bago ko ito tuluyang binili) A latino guy who looks like Carlos Santana approached me and said that my bass technique is really good. He also asked me if the song (It's the My Friend of Misery bass solo) that I was playing was an original composition because, if it was mine, it's really impressive. Syempre, nag pasalamat ako sa papuri na binigay niya, saka sinabi ko din sa Metallica yung song. Tuloy lang ako sa pagtugtog tapos, after a few bass runs, he asked if I understand music theory and if I took lessons. I said, yes, in a way I do understand theory but I don't have any formal training. I am a self taught player and I just love to play. After a few more questions (and after asking me to play some other bass stuffs) he asked me, "Do you want to be in a Hard Rock band?" I was like, "Err... Im a full-time worker, I sleep at 10, wakes up at 5, blah blah blah". The guy was persuassive! He was like, "I know a lot of people in the business man, cmon, you have a good technique, you can improvise, you can play anything man. My drummer is over ther *points sa drum section* he's really good. We need you in the group man, our bassist is garbage" He goes on and on and on... He's really convincing me to join the band.
What happened? I bought the bass... I turned down the offer...
Is it dahil mas gusto ko ung siguradong income, yung may sasahurin ako every 15 days kaysa yung sa tipong pag may gig, meron, pag wala, edi wala? Or sadyang na turn off ako dahil kamukha nga nya si Santana?
Ang totoo, ayaw ko lang talaga. Nanghinayang ako? Nope, no regrets. Rak on!

Naks namaaaaaan! Astig ;) Ibig sabihin it's the music you love, not the whole band scene. Some people get to caught up in the whole "rockstar" idea, and they'd jump at that opportunity without thinking. Cheers!

yeah, minsan gnun nangyayari. ako kasi, sa unang jamming plang ramdam ko na kung may connection o wala eh. :) sa pagtugtog plang khit solo ok n ako eh, ung pagbabanda for me, is to share ung talent sa mga tao na alam mo n mkakarelate sau. di me nagbabanda for the sake n msali sa banda. gets? :)

another thing is it can be a scam. im not saying they are, but it can be. well in becoming a rockstar sometimes kahit di mo barkada kajam mo u'll go for it then barkadahan follows. its good to make some weighing first than hastily deciding on things.
